Why is all of this FREE?
We have two common sayings in America - "There's no such thing as a free lunch," and "What's the catch?". It's true that people and businesses often offer "free" stuff in order to sell or obligate you to something else (that's what we call "the catch").
All of the services mentioned on this Web site are offered free of charge, with no expectation of receiving anything in return. (The only exception is special trips for which a fee is charged ONLY to cover trip costs.) So why do we do it? All the staff, volunteers, and even most of the financial donors of the organizations listed below have two important things in common:
- They have a genuine interest in, and curiosity about, cultures other than their own.
- More importantly, they all have experienced the unconditional love and forgiveness offered by Jesus Christ, the son of God. In fact, God has shown us such great love, we cannot keep it to ourselves! So His love compels us to care for others the same way He cares for us - unconditionally, expecting nothing in return. We don't even require you to agree with us! If you want to hear more about it, just ask one of us. We each have a story to tell, and we love telling it.
